CREAMY RED SAUCE PASTA WITH ITALIAN SAUSAGE

Got lots of requests to share this recipe so here it is! Just threw this one together so it’s not exact amounts but so easy and delicious! Paired it with a simple side salad for an easy week night meal.

Ingredients: (serves 2-4)

  • 1 lb Italian sausage

  • 24 oz can of diced tomatoes

  • Finely diced garlic cloves (4) and shallot (1)

  • Heavy cream

  • Brown rice noodles

  • Crushed red pepper

  • Dash of red wine

  • Chopped Basil

  • Parmesan

Directions:

  1. Cook the sausage until no more pink, breaking up the pieces

  2. Once fully cooked drain the grease from the sausage and add in the garlic and shallots - cook until tender

  3. Add in the can of tomatoes and cook on high for about 10-15 min stirring and breaking up the tomatoes

  4. Add a little wine, a dash of crushed red pepper and the basil and cook down

  5. While the sauce is going cook the noodles according to package

  6. Once the sauce is looking a little thicker add in the heavy cream (I just eye balled this depending on how creamy you want the sauce)

  7. Continue to stir and cook for another 5 min on medium

  8. Once the noodles are done spoon them out(drained) and add them directly into sauce(I didn’t use the whole bag of noodles) and stir

  9. Shave the parmesan on top of pasta and stir. Then serve immediately

  10. Add on a little more parmesan and basil if you prefer

  11. Enjoy!
